Joint Birthday Party

Saturday, May 17th  --  12:00noon - 4:00pm

Come one, come all and join the YMCA of Frederick County and Frederick Police Department on Saturday, May 17th for a gigantic birthday carnival to celebrate 150 years of service to the community!

This event, which runs from 12:00noon to 4:00pm at the YMCA facility at 1000 North Market Street, is entirely FREE to the public and will feature fun and exciting activities for the young and young-at-heart!

CARNIVAL GAMES

There will be tons of opportunities for kids of all ages to play carnival games. Each time they play, they win a prize! Some of the games include sack races, ring toss, capture the present, treasure digs, field goal kick, present pickup, horse shoes and bean bag toss, to name a few.

ENTERTAINMENT

Families can enjoy spending time together with multiple moon bounces, pony rides, a petting zoo, a Velcro wall, face painting, clown performances, piñatas, wacky hairstyle creations, a dunk tank, mascots, puppet shows, the Frederick Keys, a DJ plus much more!

ARTS & CRAFTS

Children can participate in multiple arts & crafts stations creating items like party poppers and party shakers, birthday hats & goodie bags, star catchers, police scene art as well as competing in coloring contests.

FOOD

There will also be lots of food and refreshments for the family including hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, cotton candy, popcorn & much more. Don’t forget the birthday cake! The YMCA and Police Department will cut their cakes at 2:00pm.

PERFORMANCES

Featured performances during the event will include dance, gymnastics, karate, K-9 Unit and of course, strolling clowns!

AND MORE…

Families will also have the opportunity to interact with law enforcement officers on their mobile command unit, Interactive Children’s Tent as well as visit with emergency fire vehicles.

This event will be held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, festivities will be held inside the YMCA facility.

Be sure to join us as we sing “Happy Birthday” and cut the cake at 2:00pm!
