150th anniversary black tie gala
June 14th—Sesquicentennial Black Tie Gala Featuring:
Doc Scantlin and His Imperial Palms Orchestra
In celebration of our 150 years of service to the community, the YMCA of Frederick County will hold a Black Tie Gala. The event will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 from 6:00-11:00pm at Hood College’s Coblentz Hall.
The event will include hors d’ oeuvres, cocktails, a sit down dinner and dancing to the 20s, 30s and 40s swing music of the award winning Doc Scantlin and His Imperial Palms Orchestra.
The evening will get started with cocktails at 6:00pm and dinner at 6:30pm. The highlight of the gala will be the music of Doc and world renowned orchestra beginning at 7:30pm. Doc’s whole ensemble will offer a memorable evening of musical entertainment. From the 1920’s speakeasy numbers through the romantic music of the 1930s and on into the swing era of Benny Goodman, the orchestra will have you hooked.
Seating for this event is limited. The cost for the gala is $100 per person and tickets go on sale at the YMCA’s member service desk beginning in mid April.
