Prayer Breakfast
Sunday, January 20th
A message from Daria Steinhardt, President/CEO
Our YMCA hosted a wonderful event to kick off our 150th Anniversary celebrations on January 20th. The prayer service and breakfast were both uplifting and a great reminder of the roots of our YMCA and the YMCA movement. Our long time partners, the Frederick Rescue Mission, and the Centennial United Methodist Church were integral to the success of this endeavor and we are very thankful for the contributions of the Praise & Worship group (Larry Goldman, Steve Bright, Sharon Haslup, Clara Mullinix, Johnny Wilcox, Jim Chamblee, Mike Albro, Sue Goldman and DeMonte Fowlkes), Pastor Mike Albro, Pastor Arnold Farlow, Tommy Skaggs and the residents of the Rescue Mission, Andy Andrews and the staff of Skycroft and the congregation of Centennial United Methodist Church. We are also grateful to Marsha Meredith and David Ray for their inspirational testimonials.

I am especially grateful to the Christian Emphasis Committee which organized this event; Maria Aldrich, Niki Corkran, Cheryl Fanning, Jennifer Gerlock, Carole Gladding, Tammy O'Connor, Maria Rubeling and Chrissie Stoudt-Reimnitz as well as Jim Hall and the maintenance staff . Many thanks to Doug Hart and the Banner School for the use of their chairs, as well. It was also very gratifying to have the support of our board members, Darrell Guyton and daughter Sarah, Wade Manning and wife Caroline and Tom Rozynek. The YMCA is fortunate to have been blessed by those who have contributed to our mission over the past 150 years. The success and quality of this event bode well for the future celebrations we have planned for the rest of the year. Thank you once again to all the supporters, organizers and sponsors!
