OUR HISTORY
In 2008, the YMCA of Frederick County will celebrate 150 years serving the Frederick community. The YMCA movement began in Frederick in 1858 as a small Bible study group for men in downtown Frederick. The first YMCA building in Frederick opened its doors on January 1, 1908.
Since that time, We have grown into a refuge for families as well as one of the largest community service organizations in Frederick County. More YMCA history here.
